Bahrain is the first country to grant emergency approval to Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine. The approval followed a thorough study, the National Health Authority announced today.
The vaccine, which unlike other agents requires only one injection, is intended for use in people at higher risk of complications, such as the elderly or chronically ill.
The vaccine could be approved in the U.S. this week; the U.S. Food and Drug Administration considers the vaccine safe and effective.
